ROWING

Rowing at the Union Boat Club
Founded in 1851, Union is the oldest continuously operating rowing club in the Boston metropolitan area and the third oldest rowing club in the Nation. The club’s first eight members came together with no dues, no boathouse and a single goal of exploring the river. From that humble beginning UBC rowing has thrived and become a fixture at regattas from the Head of the Charles in Boston to Henley Royal Regatta. Union is proud to have produced multiple Olympians, National Team Rowers and National Champions.

Today the club provides rowing and training facilities at our boathouse on the Charles River Esplanade. Our rowing programs include: Sculling, Men’s and Women’s Sweep, and a Master’s Sweep group.
